ARTS ABLAZE

Part conference and part festival, Arts Ablaze is a regional celebration of arts and culture taking place at the Ramada Resort Kooralbyn from Wednesday 2 to Sunday 6 October 2019. 

Managed by Scenic Rim Regional Council, Arts Ablaze is focused on the transformation of regional communities and arts practice through attitudes, access, people and place and is the first event of its type to be held in Queensland in many years.

The full program will be released in July, with highlights including First Nation projects and perspectives, panel discussions and forums, PechaKucha sessions from regional arts projects across Queensland, discussion of funding options and what major art organisations can offer the regions, exhibitions, site activations, a cocktail function, arts dinner and networking events.

arTour will also host a one-day Touring Showcase at Arts Ablaze on Friday 4 October. This will feature a dynamic mix of production pitching and time for planning and discussion between producers and presenters to create stronger, more meaningful touring outcomes. Showcase is designed to maximise opportunities for productions that meet the 2021 programming needs of managed venues. For more information, click here. 

The Arts Ablaze Festival is free and open to the public from 4pm Friday 4 October until 5pm Sunday 6 October and will include workshops, food trucks, roving performers, artisan markets and performances.
