ABOUT US

Take one large regional Government area covering over 4,238sq km.

Add the diverse and unique towns and villages of  Beaudesert, Boonah, Rathdowney, Kooralbyn, Lost World, Darlington and Kerry Valleys, Kalbar, Aratula, Canungra, Beechmont, Tamborine Village, Tamborine Mountain, Harrisville and Peak Crossing.

Mix in breathatking landscapes, World Heritage listed National Parks, rich agricultural farmlands, hardworking communities and growing urban footprints.

Combine that with communities passionate about their identities, the places they value, and the lifestyle and heritage of this great place.

What you have is the Scenic Rim: A bowl of mountains, fertile valleys and individual communities with cultural centres acting as hubs for cultural activity across our whole region.

The Scenic Rim Regional Council is committed to promoting the arts as a tool for cultural expression and development. Cultural engagement and participation is recognised by Council as integral to building community capacity.

Activities include management of Arts and Cultural Programs at the Cultural Centres at Boonah and Beaudesert; the Regional Arts Development Fund for Scenic Rim; Arts and Cultural Policy; Public Art Policy Development, Studios and Cultural Trails of the Scenic Rim; support for the Scenic Rim Heritage Network and Boonah Art Gallery Association; and, a range of partnerships and programs aimed at increasing the cultural capacity and development of Creative Industries across the Scenic Rim.
