BIOGRAPHY OF ALEXIS (SHERRY) CURRIE

About the artist: Alexis is from the Mununjahli Tribe of Beaudesert SEQLD. The Mununjahli Tribe is one of eight clan groups of the Yugambeh Nation whose boundaries start from the Logan River in Logan down the coast to Tweed Heads and out to the World Heritage listed Scenic Rim Mountains.
Alexis has been painting for approx nine years and her artworks are often based on country, family, communal and spiritual life of the Mununjahli Tribe and its people and creation stories.
