Christine Leah G.R.S.M., A.R.M.C.M., P.G.C.E. Zengarra Country House & Pavilions, Tel (07) 5463 5600 2225 Lake Moogerah Road email chris@zengarra.com Moogerah Queensland 4309 Australia I am a graduate of the Royal School of Music, an Associate of the Royal Manchester College of Music, and hold a post graduate Certificate in Education. I held my first Post as Director of Music in the U.K. in 1972 and since have held similar positions in UK & Hong Kong. Since starting my performance career at the age of 10 I have been a music teacher all my working life and have had experience of teaching all age ranges from young children to adults. I have always placed a strong emphasis on performance and the development of all so that music can become a source of pleasure and happiness as well as intellectual enjoyment. My adult choirs have included Church and Cathedral performing choirs. I formed and directed a number of choirs among parents and teachers with a repertoire extending from Verdi’s Requiem sung at Warwick Cathedral to a Ladies Barbershop group, the only one of its kind in Hong Kong In Hong Kong I had a Mixed Junior, a Senior Girls and a Boys choir. My music groups comprised a Junior, a Senior and a Special Percussion Group and a orchestra, a string group and a recorder group. Annually, I held a Music Theatre Production, which put on a large-scale production for which I arranged and conducted band music for show performances. I also held a major concert with a cast of over 300, and trained choirs of 1000 children’s voices for the pre-match singing at the HK Rugby Sevens. I have judged many singing, performance and song-writing events in my career, ranging from school performances in UK and Hong Kong to Steel Band Groups in Tobago and latterly in Boonah. Since migrating to Australia, I have built up a solo career as pianist and marimba performer and recorder of CD’s and DVD’s in various formats such as Lady Sings & Lady Plays, and concerts on the lawns at Zengarra. I have started the Zengarra Zingers, a mixed choir now in its seventh year; the Zinger Birds, a ladies choir which is concentrating on multi-part female singing; I run Singing for Fun, Music Appreciation and Song Writing Courses for U3A and for Zengarra. Recent projects include the Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat production at the Wiss Emporium.
