Nardia Tonna Born Melbourne 1962 Nardia began her artistic journey early, being accepted into Swinburne Technical College as a talented 16 year old, then transferring to RMIT to continue her studies. After a 30 year hiatus, an extended holiday through Europe reignited her passion for art and painting, and especially so after visiting Paris. She has studied with Walter Magilton, Kevin Taylor, and most recently Megan Skehan. Nardia’s love of animals has seen her produce many commissioned works for devoted pet owners. Nardia resides in the beautiful Guanaba Valley and is currently working on a series of native bird portraits sourced from her own garden. She was invited to exhibit in the Kings Christian College 2015 Easter Arts Festival with a number of oil animal portraits, portraits and landscapes, and has twice entered and exhibited works of landscapes and wildlife portraits in the D’Arcy Doyle annual exhibition in Mudgeeraba. Nardia’s detailed work perfectly captures her animal subjects fleeting moments in time. She is committed to perfecting her craft and developing her own personal style. Inspiration for the Bonjour French Festival was of course animals again after seeing Parisians walking their dogs on the beautiful streets of Paris and wonderful memories of the market stalls and their unique produce.
