Bec Andersen is a textile artist specialising in designing and producing hand-tufted rugs. Her rugs are made from 100% wool, which she hand dyes using only natural colorants.
Her guiding philosophy comes from English textile designer William Morris, who said, 'Have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful and believe to be beautiful'.
Her rugs are beautiful, but they’re to be walked on as well.
'I enjoy the challenge of working on commission, the process of creating a rug for a specific space is rewarding and I invariably make new friends along the way.'
Her studio is a wonderful space with mountains of coloured wool, in baskets and hanging from the ceiling, soft light filters through the rustic old windows, onto the stretched canvas she works upon. It is a place of inspiration both for her and her visitors.
