QWC 2020 CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOPS

November Discussion Theme: Creative Pathways, careers, in galleries, museums and mentorship platforms

The Scenic Rim Regional Council is delighted to advise that through Arts Queensland's Queensland Arts Showcase Program (QASP), funding has been awarded to run our 2020-2021 Arts Dinners LIVE and Online South West Queensland (SWQ) ARTS DINNERS.

QUEENSLAND BALLET  PRESENTS DANCE FOR SENIORS

 The day will offer two free programmed sessions developed specifically to celebrate what it means to become an active older adult. 

Seniors are defined as any person who identifies as an active older adult. No minimum dance experience required.

  • Fri, 13 Nov @ Vonda Youngman Community Centre (Tamborine Mountain): Two sessions available as follows: 9.00 - 11.30am AND 12.30 - 3.00pm
  • These are FREE dance classes but registrations are essential. More information and to register

Artist and Educator, Therese Flynn-Clarke, is one of the artists behind the Above and Below Exhibition. The exhibition reflects on our environment from an aerial viewpoint.Therese and the Scenic Rim Cultural Centres are delighted to invite you to take part in the following FREE ONLINE workshops.

SHARE YOUR WORK: Once you have completed the worksheet and been inspired to create, share your work with us. See what other artists have created and find out more on how to submit your creation.

SCENIC RIM WRITERS GROUP AND QUEENSLAND WRITERS CENTRE

Writers from around the Scenic Rim are welcome to join this group. The objectives are to hold writing events and workshops to build skills, support each other and develop networks.

RELAX AT THE MEMORY CAFE

The Centacare Memory Cafe is a place where people with dementia and carers can be themselves, share stories, discover helpful hints or simply enjoy the food and great company. There are also regular guest speakers.

Memory Cafe's have recommenced with their monthly gatherings and are held on the first Friday of each month.
