Fiona’s work begins in a particular region, is site-specific and informed by social, anthropological, ecological and political issues. She spends extended periods of time on-site where the process begins in the landscape and develops into an interactive methodology that includes visual and visceral responses to her immediate surroundings. She revisits places and records feelings, emotions and physical changes seeking to find relationships between natural and altered physical landscapes.
“Through my use of line; drawn, stitched or cut, I seek to find connections that reference the fragility of the natural world, and the impact of human intervention on the environment.”
Over the studios weekend Fiona will be conducting the following workshops:
Day 1 - Drawing in the natural world.
Day 2 - Pouring paint.
Cost $60. Bookings essential. Ph 5545 1468 before 10 May 2013.
