Join members of the Templin Museum, Common Threads Chapter Australian Sewing Guild and Dr Veronica Lampkin to celebrate and explore the history and legacy of Madame Weigel.

MORNING TEA PROGRAM: 

Features guest speakers Cr Virginia West, Scenic Rim Regional Council, Iris Skinner, House of Fashion Curator Templin Museum, and special guest Dr Veronica Lampkin, author of Madame Weigel: The Woman who Clothed the Australasian Colonies, followed by the exclusive book launch and signing of Dr Lampkin’s latest publications.

The event concludes with Dr Lampkin’s in-depth presentation, Who was Madame Weigel?

Madame Weigel: Fashion Designer - Entrepreneur - Liberator exhibition acknowledges a very successful business started in Melbourne in 1878 by Johanna and Oscar Weigel.  This exhibition is recognised nationally as one of the most significant and comprehensive collections of Madame Weigel's fashion and patterns.
