ON EXHIBITION @ The Centre Beaudesert 

 

CALLING FOR ENTRIES - Elders exhibition & regional tour

We are calling for entries from Queensland artists, photographers, digital media and filmmakers to respond to the exhibition theme.

THEME: 'celebrating our elders and help shift our views on ageing and age-related barriers that prevent community participation'.

20 artworks will be selected for exhibition at The Centre Beaudesert July-Sept, at Arts Ablaze Conference Ramada Resort Kooralbyn Valley October 2019 and the subsequent tour in 2020-21.  Works will be selected by a panel representing aged care, health, arts & community.

PUBLIC PROGRAMS & TALKS during the exhibition: Successful artists may be invited to participate in talks and public programs at the Exhibition Official Opening event at The Centre Beaudesert and during the exhibition period. Artists may also be invited to attend exhibition events throughout the tour by the host gallery/venue. Applicants are to indicate in their submission if they are available for these public programs and events.

HOW TO ENTER

ARTWORKS & SIZE LIMITATIONS

Artwork presentation requirements: 1 work per artist.
2D artworks to be supplied ready to hang with D-rings &/or chord. Framed works to be suitable for touring - use perspex/acrylic, strictly no glass. 
Digital works to be supplied as jpegs or mp4 works on a labelled USB suitable for display on monitors or projectors within venues. 

Size limitations of 2D works: max dimensions of frame or canvas 850mm x 650mm x 36mm deep.

Delivery & return after Tour: Successful artists are responsible for delivering their work to Beaudesert by mid July 2019. Dates and arrangements will be confirmed with all successful artists. 

ARTIST FEES

Artist Fees: successful artists will receive group exhibition and tour fees in line with NAVA rates. 

WHAT TO SUBMIT 

  • Limit 1 work per artist.
  • Full contact details of artist - full name, home address, postal address, email, mobile/phone, web address (optional).
  • Indicate if you are available for public programs at The Centre Beaudesert & on tour.
  • Proposed Artwork: High res image of proposed artwork for exhibition with supporting information or statement including dimensions; or high res image of sample of work with 300 word (max) description of the proposed artwork to be created.  Mp4 digital works to be supplied on USB (labelled with your name & phone) and will be exhibited on monitor screen or projector where possible within the gallery.

Successful artists will be advised of full schedule and arrangements.
